Glaucoma
Often called “the sneak thief of eye sight,” glaucoma often goes unnoticed by patients until vision loss has already occurred.
Glaucoma is similar to high blood pressure and diabetes, as it affects your peripheral blood vessels. But glaucoma kills the nerve tissue of the eyes.
Early detection of glaucoma is crucial to prevent vision loss and blindness – and the earlier, the better. There is no cure for glaucoma, and once vision loss occurs, it can’t be regained. There are several treatments that can manage, slow down, and even halt the progression of the disease.
Annual testing is recommended for adults to diagnose glaucoma early. Once diagnosed, we establish an aggressive treatment plan to minimize vision loss for our glaucoma patients.
