Wavefront Corneal Molding is a non-surgical procedure that reshapes the cornea of the eye overnight, enabling clear vision during the day without corrective lenses. It’s a great solution for patients with nearsightedness or a low degree of astigmatism, and is a safe alternative to LASIK or PRK.

Dr. Harvey is proud to be the only optometrist in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes Regions to offer Wavefront Corneal Molding.

How it Works

Corneal molds are custom-designed contact lenses worn overnight. They modify the cornea to change the focusing power of the eye by creating a flattening effect. Patients can see clearly when wearing the molds, and all day long after the lenses are removed.

Corneal molding is not only an excellent alternative to wearing glasses, it also frees you from distractions caused by sweat, dust, wind, weather and temperature. Patients who suffer from dry eye with contact lenses can be successfully treated with Wavefront Corneal Molds.

Who Are the Best Candidates for Corneal Molding?

The best candidates for corneal molding have myopia (neasightedness) or have a low degree of astigmatism. Dr. Harvey has successfully treated patients with up to -6.00 diopters of myopia with visual outcomes of 20/15 (that’s better than 20/20 vision!)

Wavefront Corneal Molding is suitable for patients in the early teen years through adulthood.
